Challenge
Design a user-friendly tool that streamlines presentation creation, merging design and narrative coherence to save time and enhance effectiveness.
Due to limited design skills and time constraints, people struggle to create engaging, visually appealing and engaging presentations. This results in a process that is not only time-consuming but also leads to less effective presentations. Easy to learn, hard to master the creation process of both the design and narrative coherence. The objective was to develop a design for a more user-friendly, efficient, and streamlined deck creation tool. Create a tool that would be capable of handling various presentation requirements without the current complexity that requires inordinate amounts of time. The ultimate goal is to free up people's time so they can focus on what matters most - the work itself.
My roles
I managed a team of ML/AI engineers, ensuring design integrity and optimizing cross-functional collaboration
DESIGN DIRECTION
While managing ongoing projects, I implemented consistent check-ins and critiques with the teams. This ensured quality design and UX, provided feedback and kept projects on schedule.
EVOLVING PROCESSES
I helped 3Plus1 during its early startup phase by identifying areas for improvement and advocating for process changes. This included GTM strategy, marketing, branding, roadmaps, and creative processes.
USER RESEARCH
I created actionable vertical strategies with product partners, leading workshops, gathering research, and guiding prioritization.
GTM Strategy
TARGET MARKET
When defining target markets for an AI-powered presentation tool, consider focusing on tech hubs like Silicon Valley, Seattle, Boston, Austin, New York City, Denver, and Chicago, where companies are more open to adopting AI-driven solutions. Aim at industries with high reliance on presentations, including marketing, sales, education, consulting, and the tech sector.
SERVICE OFFERINGS
In order to successfully launch our product, we aimed to attract early adopters who are interested in our AI-powered presentation tool, with a particular focus on professionals working in top US agencies and the Big 3 consultancy firms. Our objective was to engage these users and gather their feedback, which we would then incorporate into the product, making the necessary improvements. Once the necessary improvements were made, we planned to launch a subscription-based service.
CUSTOMER PROFILING
In order to cater to finance professionals, consultants, and agency workers, it's important to customize the AI-powered presentation tool to meet their specific needs and preferences. We are focused on incorporating features that align with their unique requirements, ensuring that our solution simplifies the creative process while delivering visually stunning and engaging presentations to enhance their professional image.
MARKETING STRATEGY
We focused on leveraging social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram to promote our product by producing captivating videos that generated excitement. With the use of paid advertising and targeted ads, we were able to rapidly grow our LinkedIn following from zero to three thousand in just a few weeks. Furthermore, we utilized our personal networks to engage industry leaders as alpha testers and gain valuable feedback that helped us tailor our product features to their specific requirements.
BRAND POSITIONING
To create a renowned user-friendly brand with advanced AI capabilities, develop an intuitive interface and seamless integration with popular presentation platforms like Google Slides and PowerPoint. This ensures compatibility and effortless exporting, making your AI tool known for enhancing creativity while maintaining high-quality standards. Your brand will be recognized as a reliable solution for effortless and efficient creation of visually stunning and engaging presentations.
CUSTOMER PERSONAS
FINANCE
Our research indicated that key user personas are likely to benefit from AI-generated decks comprised of professionals in the Finance sector. These individuals are routinely occupied with intricate data analysis and detailed financial reporting. Their presentations cater to a diverse audience, including team members, top-level executives, and clients. Although well-versed in tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Slides, they face challenges in transforming complex financial data into visually engaging and easily comprehensible decks due to the time.
CONSULTANCY
As the primary user persona for AI-generated decks in consultancy firms, consultants often tackle complex data and strategic recommendations. Despite being adept at data analysis and strategy formulation, they find creating compelling decks time-consuming. They're seeking an AI tool that automates deck creation, integrates with existing software, and is user-friendly and customizable. Using AI technology allows them to efficiently communicate insights, enabling them to dedicate more time to their core consultancy roles.
AGENCY
In creative agencies, the primary user persona for AI-generated decks is a busy creative professional juggling multiple projects. While talented in design and storytelling, they find creating visually stunning decks time-consuming and detracting from their creative work. They would use AI-generated decks to automate the design process, focusing more on ideation and execution. These professionals value efficient tools that deliver high-quality, customizable outputs and integrate with their existing software, enabling them to work consistently.
Prompt engineering
& template library
The development of an MVP generative AI deck tool focuses on leveraging curated stable diffusion prompt libraries and custom deck templates to create an initial, robust offering. This innovative solution streamlines the deck-building process by combining a diverse range of prompts with tailored templates, facilitating seamless user experiences. As we progress through the first round of MVP, our goal is to refine and enhance the tool to ensure it effectively addresses users' needs while fostering creativity and productivity in presentation design.
Stable diffusion integration
We incorporated personalized prompts through a harmonious blend of stable diffusion and templates tailored for decks. Crafted a logic system that employs diverse art styles according to the given prompt, industry, and other factors. This seamless integration enables a dynamic and engaging creative process, enriching your decks with visually captivating elements and elevating people's designs
100+ Presentation templates
During the Alpha launch phase, I had the privilege of creating more than 100 presentation templates for our LLM. My objective was to develop visually appealing and unique slides that could be employed in various presentation contexts. This approach not only provided the deck with a more unified and structured appearance but also incorporated subtle nuances to avoid the common problem of LLMs appearing monotonous.

SMART TOOLS & AI EDIT
Contextual AI tools revolutionize user engagement with digital content by offering personalized, dynamic assistance based on users' actions. These smart tools provide various helpful features when interacting with text or images. For readers, users can rewrite, check spelling and grammar, and reduce or write more copy.
EXPORT
Based on user research, one key feature that people wanted was integration with the software that they’re currently using. We used available APIs to export to the more popular platforms like Powerpoint, Google Slides, and PDF.
COLLABORATIVE TOOLS
Ability to comment and collaborate with teammates to build and change out deck according to the presentation's needs
